ombudsman working with carers and health professionals
The ombudsman took part in Nursing in Practice – the largest free event dedicated to practice nurses and primary-care specialists across the UK (London, September 2008) – to help raise awareness of the ombudsman and its role in resolving financial disputes.
While consumers typically come into contact with nurses and carers at a time when they have health worries, some of the difficulties patients face may have financial implications and could include problems with a financial business.
The ombudsman service is also continuing to work with the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) and other key "trusted individuals" in the community including teachers and education workers. This work has been supported by coverage in Nursing in Practice [PDF opens in new window] magazine.
