about this investment issue of ombudsman news In this issue we provide an update on the treatment of windfall benefits in mortgage endowment cases. The regulators recent publication of its guidance on the matter, after a period of consultation, means that firms can now finalise any unsettled pension review cases that include windfalls. Still on the subject of mortgage endowment cases, and in response to requests from a number of firms, we outline how when we calculate redress we treat any top-up endowment policies that the customer may have. Finally, as always, we include a selection of some of the wide range of cases we have dealt with in the last few months.
